Licensing FAQ

When contacting us to discuss licensing please give us as much information as possible about your company, project and requirements.

We generally only respond with license terms and information to contacts who have clearly identified their company and are using a company email address (i.e. not Gmail, Hotmail, or similar). To initiate talks with us on licenses please use the Contact page.

General public licensing

SplitmediaLabs only offers general public licensing for its branded version of VH Screen Capture Driver. The license terms for the commercial version is fixed and further explained here.

Perpetual Enterprise licensing

The toolkits: We usually only offer a perpetual license for our toolkits for enterprise B2C or B2B applications not directly competing with the products of SplitmediaLabs. We are generally not very restrictive in regards to features and markets of interested parties in this regard. Hence, we would not consider an e-learning product or a webinar application as a product in any direct competition with for example 321meet and we would not consider a product specific support solution as being in direct competition with for example 321support.

The products: We only license our products under a perpetual license to enterprise clients who intend to deploy the product(s) for use directly in the enterprise or to work in a closed loop with an existing application.

The deal: We always license on a case to case basis and only to qualified enterprise licensees. When providing a quote we look at the target project or application,on number of users, installations, market size, used features, and so forth.

Royalty based licensing

The toolkits: We are always open to royalty based licensing of our toolkits. If you market or develop products in direct competition with the products of SplitmediaLabs this is usually the only option we will consider.

If you have a limited entry budget, wish to introduce new modules to your existing product or extend your current offering with technology based on our toolkits, we look forward to discuss the option of royalty based licensing.

If you are setting up a new company or in the early stages of product development, we are also willing to discuss a revenue sharing model in exchange for a license to one of our toolkits, but we require a solid business plan to be presented to us, if you want to discuss this option further.

The products: We are actively looking for resellers and OEM licensees for our products. We will have more information about qualifications and options in the near future.

The deal: For 321Meet we expect to have specific qualifications and commercial terms available shortly. For OEM royalty based licensing of other products we will still consider this on a case by case basis.
